Circular inspiration: Genoa looks ahead to a circular economy


Through the reorganisation of the city owned waste management company, Genoa has strengthened its circular economy efforts. Feedback from businesses, researchers, academics and heads of networks of the circular economy was collected and published in an urban white paper on circular economy.

Genoa has also invested in networks like EUROCITIES to share its knowledge as well as to learn from others. Read about the challenges and lessons learned during this transition.

Matteo Campora, environmental city councillor, Genoa, said: “Circular economy is an important pillar for the development of sustainability policies. In our Municipality, we are committed to reinventing the economy of the city. It's an opportunity to improve the efficiency of our economic system while at the same time creating new business and job opportunities.”
